Advocacy Committee

YIP's Advocacy Committee identifies, researches, and initiates promising advocacy campaigns around key issues facing the City of Philadelphia. It aims to combine civic idealism with a strategic and pragmatic approach to affecting positive change in Philadelphia.

YIP has been involved with successful advocacy campaigns around:

neighborhood zoning rights
tax reform
keeping MTV's The Real World in Philadelphia
campaign finance reform
skateboarding in LOVE Park

How can you get involved with YIP's Advocacy Committee?

help select YIP advocacy issues and campaigns
do background research on advocacy issues and strategies
organize and participate in advocacy events and campaigns
conduct outreach to decision-makers and key stakeholders
write op-eds

learn about the city, its key issues, and the realities/politics surrounding them
