Does the current political climate have you ready to vote – and ensure candidates hear your voice? Don’t want to wait another two or four years to do so? You’re in luck. The primary election for the District Attorney of Philadelphia is May 16th. YIP – in partnership with Temple University’s Master of Public Program, the Committee of 70The Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia, and the Hispanic Bar Association of Pennsylvania – is hosting a Candidates’ Forum* and Convention on Criminal Justice Reform for the District Attorney’s race.

The event will focus on the role that the DA plays in shaping criminal justice reform across a host of major issues including sentencing and bail policy, civil asset forfeiture, prosecution priorities, treatment of juveniles, and domestic violence and gun crime prevention programs.

The first part oft the evening will consist of a forum with candidate statements on criminal justice reform issues. Following this forum, participate in an open convention where you will have the opportunity to ask questions of candidates one-on-one.

The forum portion of the event will take place in Temple University’s Gladfelter Hall, Room 21, a five-minute walk from the Cecil B. Moore Station. The convention portion will be held at the Temple Student Center – down the block from Gladfelter Hall. There will be volunteers on hand to direct between the two venues.

*All candidates have confirmed their attendance at the event.
