Mallory Deptola is a PA girl through and through. Growing up in Pittsburgh, her first visit to Philadelphia was spending a summer at University of the Art's Intensive program where she knew she had found her place after getting her first tattoo - underage - at a spot on South Street. Mallory graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Humanities, and went on to be part of the first cohort of the Nashville Teaching Fellows program and complete a Master of Arts in Teaching at Belmont University. She moved to Philly in the Summer of 2019, and in pursuit of how to get civically engaged in Philadelphia, joined YIP's Board Prep program where she made some great connections. During the day she works at the Child & Youth Care Coordinator at YouthBuild Philly and at night you can find her watching BritBox or taking a class at the Clay Studio. She is passionate about early childhood education and access, and fair and equitable everything!
