State of Young Philadelphia 2024

This year, State of Young Philadelphia will be a one-day symposium featuring an inspiring lineup of community organizations offering a wide variety of programming. They will delve into key topics such as education, mental health, local government, the environment, and substance abuse, among others. Light refreshments will be provided for both breakfast and lunch. 

As part of our event, we are proud to support Operation Save Our City’s Sunshine House and invite attendees to bring donations. Items requested include socks, non-perishable snacks, toiletries, and menstrual products. Your contributions will help support those in need in our community. 

Don’t miss this chance to connect, learn, and make a difference!

Get Involved Happy Hour: YIP and Disability Pride PA

Nearly 17% of Philadelphians have at least one disability. Come celebrate another successful disability pride month with Disability Pride PA and Young Involved Philadelphia. We’ll raise a glass to inclusion on July 25. All proceeds will benefit DPPA.

Get Involved Happy Hour and Quizzo with Greener Partners

Do you know what kind of seeds the food you eat grows from? Join YIP and Greener Partners for a fun Quizzo night at SouthHouse on Wednesday, May 29th at 7:30pm. Come test your food, nature, and garden knowledge with a team, or network and form a team when you arrive. A suggested donation of $5-$10 per person is encouraged to play (payable at the door). All proceeds will go towards Greener Partners' school garden and food education programs with the Belmont Charter Network in West Philadelphia. Greener Partners build and use school gardens to provide interactive food education that inspires youth and communities to make healthy food choices for life in Greater Philadelphia. The winning team will receive a great garden gift from Greener Partners! 

Feel free to come mix and mingle before Quizzo starts at 7:30!

Young Involved Philadelphia and the Mayor’s Millennial Advisory Committee (MAC) are hosting a town hall event to bridge the gap between young residents of Philadelphia and local government, fostering a dialogue that centers on the concerns, ideas, and needs of the younger demographic within the city.

The primary aim is to create an open forum where young people can voice their concerns, opinions, and suggestions about city management, policies, projects and curate programming to better address these concerns.
